A downloadable fangame for Windows

Akumu Oni is a short but intense fangame based on Ao Oni, inspired by Bootleg Pokémon  from Vibingleaf and Sonic.exe. It’s a narrative psychological horror game without many puzzles, focused on guilt and death.

After the events of the original game, Hiroshi becomes trapped in a nightmare where his friends die over and over again. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t save them—forced to repeat his mistakes. The mansion looks the same, but things aren’t where they should be, or seem to move on their own, creating an eerie and unsettling atmosphere.

Hiroshi sees his dead friends blaming him for what happened. The tone is dark, with glitch aesthetics, direct dialogue, and sudden scares that keep the tension high. The main antagonist is Akumu Oni, a creepy and original Oni created for this game, who torments Hiroshi with the mansion and the deaths of his friends, symbolizing his guilt.

The game features three different endings, all can be considered canon: choose the one you like most and believe is the true ending.

Akumu Oni is a short but powerful game about trauma, regret, and the monsters we carry within.
